Always an adventure....always

Yesterday I woke up with a flat tire... bummer.

So, after 5 years of driving experience, i had my first "tire changing" experience.
Caitlin and I did it all by ourselves, and really it was kind of a good time!

The stupid screw that flattened my tire

Everything we had to pull out of my trunk to get to the spare tire

Jacking up the car!

Proof that we were both there?

Prying off the hubcap

Trying to loosen the lug nuts, They were on there TIGHT

So option two... stand on the bar until the Lug nuts came loose

Dirty, Dirty, Dirty! but the spare is ON!

The end of our adventure!

Fly on the wall

Pathetic, but true...
I get excited to read the school new paper.

There is a new column this year
called fly on the wall.
Its dedicated to one of my favorite
pass times.... eavesdropping.

The writer just listens all week for ridiculous things
people say and writes about them.
Its slowly rising on my
'favorite part of the paper list'...
right next to the comics and sudoku.

Here is the article from last week.
I got a kick out of it.

LOVE THAT BITES

This week’s article is dedicated to relationships, or the lack thereof. I have heard a lot of disappointing stories of people with not enough dates, or in one guy’s case, far too many. I wish I could claim not knowing what to do because I have so many dates. Enjoy.

1. I heard this from a guy walking into the business building. “All these girls like me and it’s so hard, because I’m too nice to say no.”

Hmmm … Too nice to say no or too desperate?

2. “I don’t know why he still won’t go out with me. It’s not like I’m still a slut. I got a job at the mall. That totally makes me a nice person.”

3. Two freshman girls:

“Oh my God, I’m so mad.”
“Oh no, why?”
“Because I still haven’t been asked out on a date. Isn’t college about dating hot guys and lots of them? Ughhh.” She sits back in her chair with frustration, folds her arms and says, “My mom so lied to me. She told me guys would, like, line up around the block waiting to date me. I’m so done with college.”

Right, this could be a legit concern, but school has only been in session for two weeks. Calm down honey.

4. Young girl talking on the phone:

“I don’t know, maybe if I like starve myself for like a week he’ll start to notice me. I could stand to lose a couple pounds anyway.”

Please keep in mind this girl is not taller than 5-foot-1-inch and can’t weigh more than 100 pounds.

5. “I won’t get married till after my birthday, so I don’t contribute to the teen bride statistic.”

6. And lastly, to kill the curiosity of a table full of girls at High Stakes Bingo I have answers for you.

a. “Yes, Brady is taken – engaged for that matter. And no, not even in your dreams will he sing you a love song.”
b. “Tai, taken as well. His girlfriend is cute, it’s perfect so don’t mess. As for the little plan your girls conjured up … don’t even try. I promise you it won’t work.” Sorry ladies.
c. “As for Bill, I cannot answer. I’ll see what I can find out.”

Never forget, in the words of Thornton Wilder, “There is nothing like eavesdropping to show you that the world outside your head is different from the world inside your head.”

And with that, please remember there is someone listening.

Another one bites the dust..

Welp... Its happened again.
Im convinced that if you want to get married...
All you have to do is live with me.

one by one my roommates keep falling in love and doing that whole marriage thing.

Freshman year:
Claire was the first to go, she met her husband the week before school started, dated and was engaged by the end of the first semester. married over spring break and now has a kid. weird.

Lindsey was the most recent to get married, She dated ryan all through high school and after a 4 year long courtship got married a few short weeks ago.

Sophomore year:
Brooke met Malcolm in high school... at an FFA event. then he lived across the hall from us, after a rough start and many jokes about "11 o clock girls" they finally got their act together, dated through the year and got married in August last summer. Brooke just announced that she is pregnant and due in March.

Casey also got married in August to Erik jorgensen. who she dated once, broke it off, dated again and finally it worked out. Then tragidy struck when Eriks life was taken on christmas eve 5 months after they got married.

Carly... im counting her. She's as good a gone. she's dating a boy named kevin whom i met this weekend. they are perfect for eachother.. and nothing is official. but lets be realistic here. im betting that its gonna happen.

This is not Kevin... just a random boy.

Summer time roomies:
Karen.. i really feel bad that i dont know more about her marriage, I only lived with her for a month and she is a darling girl. I know she got married recently but i dont know his name or anything about it... but she was my roommate, so she makes the list.

Junior year:
Katie... oh katie, she is the reason i am writing this little blog of mine. tonight i found out she is engaged. To a boy named cameron. they dated in high school, broke it off.. she saw him post mission, hit it off and the rest is history. I havent met this boy of hers, but i will before they get married. It took alot of hard times. alot of praying. and alot of decision making to get her to end up on cedar city where she needed to be. They will be married in November.

This is also not her fiance.. this is gus, who she bought for companionship, then sold. afterwhich she met cameron. now he will be there for companionship :)

Summer time roomies again:
Anamarie. We never saw this girl...ever, due to the fact that she was so in love with a boy two doors down. Dave and anamarie kept everything prety much a secret for much much too long. but they got engaged a couple weeks ago and will be married in October.

So there is the list. i have had a total of 17 different roommates. and 8 are gonners.

Just saying, if you live with me.

the odds are in your favor.
